Spiritual Balance

Everything has a balance! Literally, we are alive and breathing, our bodies upright- is all because of balance. Shout out to the universe for that solid- 💫

Have you ever thought about what happens when your spirit is out of balance? It's like, when you're going through the motions, but can't quite put your finger on what's amiss. Then insert anxiety, second-guessing, stress eating and loss of sleep. Damn. It seems like everything is just so...weird.

That's your spirit crying out. Your soul needs tending to. It's okay, with everything you do, your constant pouring and pouring. It's time for a re-up.

So, how do you re-attain balance?

The recipe is as follows: 3 equal parts

  • Self love and Care
  • Introspection
  • Meditation

That is the gist of it.

Self-Love and Care

One of the best ways to instill that quick boost of self love is masturbation. This is one of the easiest times to momentarily not obsess about body image, amongst other things. Why? Because you are doing something that feels good to you, you are pleasing you. Honestly, this is because the goal to get there overrides your will to be judge-y about yourself. Pleasing yourself is a great way to add a little self-love to your day.

Self care...sigh...As I type this blog post, I think of all of the ways I have failed myself in this department. It's true though, self care will instantly bring us closer to our inner self. We are giving ourselves time to be creative, without judgement. We have this time to experiment and explore. This gives us that boosts of inspiration that directly comes from within.

Introspection

Two words. Log off. I ain't saying social media or other online outlets are terrible, but they sure do offer us that grand distraction we want to break up the monotony of the day. Online is where you are filled with topics that are triggering, emotionally wrecked, toxic responses and everything else between.

When your soul cries out, being online and being triggered and outraged can be an oddly satisfying distraction. But that fix is only temporary and can leave you in a bad space at the end of the day. Picking a time to log off and focus on things like books, art, music making or reading, getting outside...etc all bring you closer to the divine.

Meditation

Let me guess. You've been meaning to meditate, but you haven't had time, can't focus...etc. I am not going to drag this subject out.

I am just going to say this: How do you expect to hear the voice of God/Divine/Universe if you never listen? Meditation is listening.
